There are a number of apps that are available to Android users when trying to recover their lost files. Whereas many apps tend to focus on one particular file type or another, the Undeleter, on the other hand, is actually capable of recovering lost images, music, videos, binaries and other documents. Moreover, there are different versions of the app depending on the functionality you need.
As mentioned, there are a few different versions of Undeleter to choose from. If you are trying to restore lost or deleted image files from your Android device, the free version of Undeleter will do just fine. Simply download the file from the Google Play store and begin the process from there.
If you want to be able to recover other file types, such as music files, videos or miscellaneous documents, you'll need to have your credit card handy. However, even Undeleter's paid features are a better deal than many comparable products on the market today.
Moreover, Undeleter even gives you the option of restoring your lost files directly to Google Drive or Dropbox. While this will obviously require an additional account, and perhaps an additional service subscription on your part, it's a convenient feature for those who already use one of the services.
The Recovery Process
The recovery process of Undeleter is about as straightforward as you can get. Once you've installed and launched the app on your Android phone, simply select the "Scan" option. When prompted, select "Storage" and then "Next." This prompts the software to scan for any recoverable files. Note that this process may take a while, depending on how much data is already contained on your phone's internal memory.
Once finished, simply select the file you wish to recover and tap the floppy disk icon in the upper right corner. Undeleter will then prompt you for a location to save your restored file. You can either choose a specific location, such as Google Drive or Dropbox, or simply ignore this prompt to recover the file to the default location. Finally, click on "Recover" to complete the process.
Undelete even offers secure file wiping and shredding of files. This is a great feature for those who have confidential or sensitive information as well as those who just want to make sure their privacy is intact. Keep in mind, however, that any wiped or shredded files will not be recoverable through any means in the future, including through the Undelete app itself.
Perhaps the only downside to Undeleter is the fact that the app does require root access to your Android phone. As such, users of Undeleter should make sure to root their phones prior to installing and running the Undeleter app.
User-Friendly and Worry-Free
As you can see, Undeleter features an incredibly user-friendly process that can typically be completed in a matter of minutes. There will be no need to worry next time you've lost or accidentally deleted a file from your Android phone. Simply launch Undeleter and you'll be able to recover images, music, videos or other documents as needed.
